Reflection Paper 1: ICT as an Informative Tool
Information and communication technology (ICT) as an informative tool plays a significant role in transforming how students access and interact with knowledge. In traditional classrooms, information was mostly disseminated through textbooks and lectures. However, with ICT tools like goggle search, you tube, khan academy, Wikipedia, and digital libraries, the scope of learning has expanded beyond the four walls of the classroom.
I used khan academy to go over topics i didn't understand well. It was helpful because i could replay lessons and learn at my own speed. You tube videos were also great for subject like mathematics and science. The video used pictures and animations, which made it easier for me to understand difficult topics.
The above screenshot picture shows an example of an informativeICT tool, which is Goggle Search. In the image , a student hassearched for a topic using goggle, showing how technology in finding information quickly
Having access to so much information online helped me learn more on my own . I started using the internet to look up topics and even shared what i learned with my classmates. This helped me become better at doing research and thinking more critically.
But sometimes, online information's are found wrong and shallow. To avoid this, we have to check if websites were trustworthy and the information was true. This skill are also very important. Also, not all students are access to internet or devices at home. In such cases, as a teacher we have to used the school's computer lab or shared offline materials.
To sum up, ICT as an informative tool has made learning easier and more fun. It allows students to explore on their own, learn at their own pace, and connect with information from all over the world.
